Michael Gilio

Michael is the Director of Special Programs at McGowanPRO. Michael has over 25 years’ experience in Professional Liability and Management Liability Insurance. Michael has the prestigious designation of Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) along with the Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) designation, Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding (AFSB) and the Associate in Management (AIM). Michael is married to Lisa and has 2 grown children. Michael spends his free time coaching baseball.

Gary Sutherland, CIC, MLIS

Gary Sutherland has over 30 years of insurance experience and holds the prestigious designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), an honor attained by only 2% of all insurance brokers, as well as certification as a Management Liability Insurance Specialist (MLIS). Gary is the founder of McGowanPRO and he oversees the operation and direction of all offices with a generosity and attention to detail that is unmatched. His diverse experience is invaluable to the service he provides to professionals. He has owned his own property management company, been a licensed property assessor, and held the position of National Sales Manager overseeing three national professional liability programs targeted to accountants, attorneys, and real estate professionals. Gary is married to Patrice and has three grown children. Gary spends his free time researching family history and genealogy.

Stephen Vono

Stephen Vono is a founding partner of McGowanPRO and focuses on Accountants professional liability insurance. Stephen is active in several leading Accounting associations and presents regularly at annual conferences including AICPA Engage; CPAFMA; MGI World; Allinial Global and Leading Edge. He currently serves as Vice President of the CPAFMA North East Chapter, and is the recipient of their Distinguished Service Presidential Citation for outstanding support and contributions to members of CPAFMA. He has written and published several articles on practice management for accounting firms for publications such as Accounting Today and The Journal of Accountancy. Stephen and his wife, Mary, have one daughter. Stephen is a music aficionado, ask him about his vinyl collection.

Dogan Tuncel

Dogan Tuncel has worked in the professional liability insurance industry for over 25 years, specializing in meeting the needs of accounting and financial professionals. Starting his career in accountants’ professional liability in 1996, he was instrumental in launching a successful inside sales force for a nationally recognized carrier.

Tuncel began working at the North American Professional Liability Insurance Agency (NAPLIA) in 2002 and quickly became their largest producer of accountants’ professional liability. He became a partner of NAPLIA in 2014 and was responsible for a new program and partner development.

In 2017, Tuncel became the national program manager for McGowan Program Administrators’ accountants’ professional liability program, CPAOnePro. He has successfully built it into one of the nation’s largest programs. Tuncel works closely with hundreds of McGowan’s specialty brokers throughout the country while developing many new agent relationships. He also works closely with their partner insurance carrier, Hanover Insurance, in developing new coverages and keeping them apprised of the accountants’ professional liability market. In 2022, Tuncel and his team at McGowan had successfully bound over 1,000 CPAOnePro new business professional liability policies while helping to maintain 96% of their renewals.

Tuncel is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts.

John Raspante

John F. Raspante is the former of Director of Compliance and Risk Management as well as the Director of Education for Graf Repetti & Co. LLP, Certified Public Accountants & Business Advisors. Prior to joining Graf Repetti, Raspante worked nine years for CAMICO Mutual Insurance Company, the nation’s second largest provider of accountants’ professional liability insurance. Raspante’s primary responsibility at CAMICO was providing loss prevention services to the organization’s largest insured’s.

A resident of Freehold, NJ, Raspante earned a BBA in accounting from Baruch College (CUNY) and a master’s degree in tax from Washington School of Law. He also holds the designation Certified Divorce Financial Analyst. His professional affiliations include memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and twelve state accounting societies. He also serves on NYSSCPA’s Compilation and Review Committee, NJSCPA’s Editorial Board and the Accounting and Auditing interest group, and the National Conference of CPAs’ Ethics Committee.

Raspante is a frequent author and speaker within the accounting profession on issues relating to risk management and professional ethics.

Michelle MacNeil

Michelle is the Underwriting Director at McGowanPro where she manages a twelve person underwriting team. Duties includes overseeing the day to day operations, client relations and Insurance company management. She specializes in compliance for the underwriting processes as well as procedures for efficiency and best practices. She is also responsible for overseeing the CPAOnePro Accountant’s Professional Liability Program. Michelle has 25 plus years of insurance experience joining McGowanPro’s underwriting department in 2007. Michelle has worked with all facets of professional liability insurance, concentrating on the Accountant’s Professional Liability Insurance. Before joining McGowanPro, she served as an underwriter on a national Lawyer’s Professional Liability program and a national Real Estate Agents Professional Liability program. She holds a Property and Casualty license and is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS). Michelle enjoys spending her free time traveling with her husband and camping and antiquing with her granddaughters.
